"Shazam!" star Zachary Levi has had another DC in mind lately — Washington, D.C. — as he throws his support behind Donald Trump for president.
The actor, 44, on Saturday moderated an event with former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whom he had backed in the 2024 election. With Kennedy's campaign suspended, Levi expressed support for Trump, the Republican presidential nominee.
"In a perfect world, in whatever that would look like, perhaps I would have voted for Bobby," Levi said. "But we don't live in a perfect world. In fact, we live in a very broken one. We live in a country that has been hijacked by a lot of people who want to take this place way off the cliff, and we're here to stop that."
He added, "We are going to take back this country. We are going to make it great again ... Of the two choices that we have, and we only have two, President Trump is the man that can get us there."

Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who has also endorsed Trump for president, joined Levi and Kennedy at the event held in Dearborn, Michigan.
Explaining to attendees "why Shazam is standing here talking to you," Levi said he grew up in a Christian conservative family and his parents taught him to "have a healthy level of distrust for the government," adding that Kennedy is the "real deal" and the kind of politician he wanted to support for president.

Levi starred as the superhero Shazam, a young boy who transforms into an adult man after saying the title word, in two DC movies in 2019 and 2023. It is currently unclear whether he will reprise the role in any future films following a reboot of the franchise under DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran.
Levi also starred in the TV series "Chuck" and voiced Flynn Rider in the Disney animated film "Tangled." He most recently starred in the movie "Harold and the Purple Crayon," which grossed only $17.6 million at the domestic box office.
The actor has previously been open about his political views, saying in a 2020 post on X that he has "always" been a Libertarian. "Some issues I care about have been fought for by Republicans, & some by Democrats," he wrote. In June, Levi described Kennedy by saying, "No candidate is perfect, but this man is the best we've had in a long time."
In 2023, Levi faced backlash for a tweet that followers interpreted as spreading an anti-vaccine message. In response to a user who asked, "Do you agree or not, that Pfizer is a real danger to the world," Levi replied, "Hardcore agree."
